Australia defeated South Africa by a huge margin of 107 runs in the first T20I of the three-match series to take 1-0 lead upfront. Having performed considerably well against the England in all the formats last month, this was comfortably a complete disastrous batting display from the hosts!
After being sent in to bat first, Australia scored big courtesy couple of 40s from Aaron Finch (42 off 27) and Steven Smith (45 off 32). They finished with 196 for 6 in 20 overs. In reply, South Africa were bowled out for a total of just 89 conceding a massive victory to visitors Australia! Ashton Agar has been the pick of the bowlers with a five-for which includes a hat-trick as well!
Ashton Agar has been adjudged as the 'Player of the Match' for his heroics with the ball. The second T20I of the series is scheduled to be played at the St George's Park in Port Elizabeth on Sunday (Feb 23) at 06:00 pm IST.
