Wednesday, Oct 21, 2020, Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi

RCB pacer Mohammad Siraj with some brilliant bowling helped Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) crush Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by a big margin of 8 wickets! Call it a once-in-a-lifetime performance or a fluke, one can call it anything, but Siraj was the hero in this brilliant victory for RCB against KKR. On guiding RCB to victory in this game, Siraj has made many records and earned a name for himself.

Having opted to bat first, Knight Riders could only manage to get to 84/8 in their 20 overs. Captain Eoin Morgan top scored for them with 30 runs (off 34 balls) and their next best is from No. 10 batter Lockie Ferguson (19 off 16). Their top 3 collectively scored 2 runs off 12 deliveries (Shubman Gill - 1, Rahul Tripathi - 1, Nitish Rana - 0), thanks to Siraj! KKR's total is the lowest for any team batting first in this IPL 2020 season.

Mohammad Siraj bowled 2 maiden overs and conceded just 8 runs in his 4 overs while picking up 3 wickets. His Economy rate of 2.00 is the best for any bowler in this tournament. He also became the only bowler to bowl two maiden overs in a single innings of IPL. Morris and Sundar too bowled a maiden over each, making this the first time in the history of IPL to have more than two maiden overs in a single innings of an IPL match!

During the chase, RCB had the chance to improve their Net Run rate but they did not hurry. Openers - Aaron Finch (16 off 21) & Devdutt Padikkal (25 off 17) - added 46 runs for the first wicket while Gurkeerat Mann (21* off 26) and Virat Kohli (18* off 17) shared an unbeaten 39-run stand for the third wicket to take RCB home with 8 wickets in hand in the 14th over! Courtesy of his brilliant bowling display, Mohammad Siraj had been adjudged as the 'Player of the Match'.

Brief Scores: Royal Challengers Bangalore - 85/2 in 13.3 overs (Devdutt Padikkal - 25, Gurkeerat Mann - 21*, Lockie Ferguson - 1/17) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders - 84/8 in 20 overs (Eoin Morgan - 30, Lockie Ferguson - 19, Mohammad Siraj - 2/18, Yuzvendra Chahal - 2/15) by a margin of 8 wickets
