Friday, Dec 04, 2020, Manuka Oval, Canberra

India managed to get to 161/7 in 20 overs after being sent into bat first, a huge thanks to Ravindra Jadeja's knock who scored an unbeaten 44* off 23 deliveries which includes 5 fours and a six. Indian opener KL Rahul (51 off 40) scored his half-century but he couldn't build his innings. Shikhar Dhawan (1 off 6), Virat Kohli (9 off 9) and Manish Pandey (2 off 8) all departed cheaply.

Sanju Samson who managed to break into playing XI scored 23 runs off 15 deliveries. During his stay at the crease, he looked elegant with the bat having scored a boundary and a huge six. Moises Henriques was the pick of Australian bowlers with 3 wickets while under pressure Mitchell Starc bagged two wickets. Adam Zampa and Mitchell Swepson bagged a wicket each.

During the chase, Australia got a good start with openers Aaron Finch and D'Arcy Short adding 56 runs for the first wicket. But since then it was a complete downward curve for the hosts! From 56/0 they were down to 75/3 losing Finch, Smith and Maxwell in the process! And the next three wickets (Short, Wade & Henriques) too fell in quick succession to give India the complete advantage of the game.

Overall, Yuzvendra Chahal who walked in a concussion substitute for Ravindra Jadeja turned the chase on its head to give visitors advantage with his 3 wickets in his 4 overs. Debutant T Natarajan too bowled brilliantly bagging three wickets. In the end, India won the game quite comfortably by a margin of runs
