New Zealand have announced their squad for the upcoming 5-match T20I series against Australia which is scheduled to be played at home. Kane Williamson is set to lead a strong squad in this series which will kick start on February 22 at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch.
New Zealand opener Martin Guptill is currently recovering from a hamstring injury and he needs to fully recover from it to participate in this T20I series. His inclusion in this series is now subject to a fitness test which he needs to pass. Finn Allen has been named as a back-up for Guptill if the latter fails to pass the fitness test in time for the series.
If Guptill misses out on fitness grounds, then it will be up to experienced Kane Williamson to lead their batting unit! Veterans Tim Southee, Trent Boult along with Kyle Jamieson and Hamish Bennett form their pace unit. The experienced spinners Mitchell Santner and Ish Sodhi are always handy for New Zealand at home.
New Zealand T20I Squad: Kane Williamson (c), Hamish Bennett, Trent Boult, Mark Chapman, Devon Conway, Martin Guptill (pending fitness test), Kyle Jamieson, Jimmy Neesham, Glenn Phillips, Mitchell Santner, Tim Seifert (wk), Ish Sodhi, Tim Southee, Finn Allen (on stand-by for Guptill)
