Bangladesh, unlike the first T20I, batted first in the second T20I after winning the toss against New Zealand. It was a better batting performance from both the teams compared with the first game! Though New Zealand had the chance of winning this game, it was Bangladesh who held their nerve to register a 4-run victory in the end!

Bangladesh - 141/6 in 20 overs
Having opted to bat first, Bangladesh had a steady start with their openers scoring a run-a-ball 59 for the first wicket. Both the openers got into their 30s - Mohammad Naim (39) and Liton Das (33). However, the run flow was cut off early with two wickets in two balls in the 10th over by Rachin Ravindra which involves the first-ball Duck for Mushfiqur Rahim.
Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah remained unbeaten on 37* as he takes them to 141/6 in 20 overs. Rachin Ravindra is the pick of NZ bowlers with 3 wickets while Ajaz Patel, Cole McConchie, Hamish Bennett accounted for a wicket each. New Zealand's debutant Ben Sears bowled just an over conceding 11 runs without a wicket.
New Zealand - 137/5 in 20 overs
This run-chase is all about New Zealand captain Tom Latham who scored an unbeaten 65 runs but couldn't get his team over the line. With 19 runs needed off the last over, he got the equation to 6 runs from the final delivery. The no-ball (penultimate delivery in the 20th over) which went for a four helped the caused a little bit but it was brilliant batting in the final over.
Will Young's 22 is the second-best for New Zealand in this run-chase and that explains the struggle of their inexperienced batting line-up on this Dhaka pitch! Mahedi Hasan and Shakib al Hasan bagged 2 wickets each while Nasum Ahmed picked up a wicket.
Player of the Match:
Even though he scored just 37 runs, Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah bags the Player of the Match for guiding his troops effectively to a close victory!
