The home team Sri Lanka were off to a head start having scored 52 runs in the first 6 overs losing 2 wickets. However, they lost their way during the middle overs as they collapsed from 71/3 in 9.1 overs to 86/6 in 12.5 overs. Charith Asalanka was the only proper batter left for Sri Lanka at that stage but Proteas' spinners found a way to keep him quiet at the crease as the home team were eventually bowled out for just 103 runs in 18.1 overs.
Tabraiz Shamsi was once again their premium bowler with 3/20 in his 4 overs. Aiden Markram too bagged a 3-wicket haul and his 3/21 in this innings are his best bowling figures in this format! Bjorn Fortuin with 2 wickets, Anrich Nortje and Keshav Maharaj with a wicket each were the other wicket-takers for South Africa in this innings. Pacer Kagiso Rabada had a sad day at the office having conceded 29 runs from his 2 overs without a wicket.

Chasing a below-par target at this venue, South Africa did never really slip the advantage! Quinton de Kock played superb innings remaining unbeaten on 58* (off 48 balls with 7 fours) to take his side home with 9 wickets in hand and 5.5 overs to spare! Reeza Hendricks (18 off 19) is the only wicket to fall while Aiden Markram (21* off 19) backed his superb bowling effort with undefeated innings!
Wanindu Hasaranga is the only Sri Lankan bowler to pick up a wicket in this innings! He registered bowling figures of 1/22 in his 4 overs and is the only Sri Lankan to concede less than 6 runs per over in this innings!

South African spinner Tabraiz Shamsi bagged the Player of the Match award for his 3-wicket haul. He bagged the wickets of Dananjaya de Silva, Dasun Shanaka, Chamika Karunaratne in this innings!
