Ajaz Patel picked up all 10 wickets in a Test innings

New Zealand spinner Ajaz Patel entered the record books having picked up all the 10 wickets in India's first innings in the Mumbai Test! Only the third bowler to make this feat so far at the international level after England's Jim Laker (vs Australia at Manchester in 1956) and India's Anil Kumble (vs Pakistan at Feroz Shah Kotla in 1999).

This has surely been a great moment for Ajaz Patel. He was born in Mumbai and registering such a feat in his hometown must have been very special for him! Even though the record was created against India, though!! India were bowled out for 325 runs in their first innings with Ajaz getting all the 10 scalps! Pacer Umesh Yadav was the one who was remained not out in this innings!

Ajaz is also the only NZ bowler after Sir Richard Hadlee to pick up 9 or more wickets in a single Test innings! Certainly this should be a great honor being placed alongside such great legends!

On the other hand, Ajaz Patel is the first bowler to pick up 10 wickets in a Test innings at an overseas venue! Jim Laker made the record in England while Anil Kumble did it in India! Doing this record in the first two days of an overseas Test match make this Ajaz's feat much more special!
