Australian pacer Shaun Tait who has been working as a fast-bowling consultant to the Afghanistan men's cricket team has announced his resignation to his role with the board with immediate effect. The decision has come to light just a day after Afghanistan's head coach Lance Klusener decided not to renew his tenure which will end at the end of this calendar year.

Tait was appointed in this role in August this year for a short term of 5 months. However, he now quits with still a month to go in the contract. On the other hand, Tait was also appointed as bowling coach for the domestic club in Puducherry.
"I have enjoyed my time working with the team especially with the young Afghan fast bowlers whom I personally think have a great future. Having access to a great cricketing mind like Lance Klusener (head coach of Afghanistan during my tenure) has been an absolute pleasure," Shaun Tait said in a statement.
