"It's not a hidden fact that it is a bit long. Making it shorter is the key focus. The word from anyone overseas that I chat to is their biggest worry is they don't want to come here for that long and be stuck," Siddle said after being named captain of the BBL's team of the tournament by all the 8 head coaches!
"If you're a shorter tournament, you're probably not losing guys like Rashid Khan, James Vince, Sandeep Lamichhane. This year we've had to rearrange games. Now we realize that maybe to make this season shorter, we might have to play back-to-back games and do different things," added Siddle.
Meanwhile, Rashid Khan and James Vince have departed Australia to represent their national teams. Afghanistan are currently playing the Netherlands in Qatar while West Indies are currently hosting England in a 5-match T20I series.
With all 8 teams playing home and away games, the ongoing Big Bash season will be played till this Friday (Jan 28). The tournament was started on December 05 as a matter of fact. And multiple games were rescheduled as COVID-positive cases resurfaced in almost every club! On some days, even three games were played!
