All-round Andre Russell has demolished the Sun Risers Hyderabad as Kolkata Knight Riders bagged a much-needed victory in the 61st match of the IPL 2022 season to keep their playoff hopes alive! Dre Russ who scored an unbeaten 28-ball 49 and with bowling figures of 3/22 has been adjudged as the 'Player of the Match'.

Having lost Venkatesy Iyer early, Nitish Rana and Ajinkya Rahane steadied KKR's innings with a 48-run partnership for the second wicket. Andre Russell (49* off 28) and Sam Billings (34 off 29) provided the much-needed impetus to take them to 177/6 in 20 overs. Umran Malik was Sun Risers' pick of the bowlers with a three-wicket haul.
SRH captain Kane Williamson once again had a disaster with the bat in hand! He scored just 9 runs from the 17 balls he faced and he was dropped once during his stay at the crease! Opener Abhishek Sharma top-scored for SRH with 43 runs while Aiden Markram (32) and Shashank Singh (11) were the only other SRH batters to get into double figures in this match!
Sun Risers Hyderabad, eventually, managed to score just 123/8 in 20 overs losing the match by 54 runs in the end. Each of the 5 KKR bowlers bowled in this match bagged at least a wicket with Russell (3/22) being their pick of all!
