Shikhar Dhawan led India to a 3-0 victory against West Indies in the 3-match ODI series in the Caribbean. This is also India's 12th consecutive series victory in this format of the game. With seniors rested for this tour, India's bench strength stood up to the occasion to help India win this series by a thumping margin!

Scores of 300+ in both the first two ODIs and a good display with the bat in the rain-marred third ODI showed India's strength in this area of the game! Shubman Gill partnered with Dhawan as the opener in the absence of Rohit and has become the leading run-scorer of this series with 205 runs!
Gill was so impressive as the stand-in captain went on to say that "Gill has a bit of Rohit in him" as far as his batting is concerned. This certainly was a big compliment having been compared him with one of the Indian legends! As far as the batting is concerned, Gill (205), Dhawan (168), Shreyas Iyer (161) are in the top three in this 3-match series.
In the bowling department, Shardul Thakur and Yuzvendra Chahal are at the top with 7 wickets each in this series. Leading both bowling and batting charts shows India's dominance in this 3-match series! If there is a disappointment for India in this series, then that would the two scores of the 90s for Dhawan (97 in the first ODI), and for Gill (98* in the third ODI).
Despite being the only centurion in this 3-match series, West Indies opener Shai Hope has accumulated just 144 runs in the 3 games combined. However, it was a decent effort from the West Indies batting unit who went on to cross the 300-mark in the first 2 ODIs despite struggling to get around 150-mark in their previous ODI series against Bangladesh at home!
Overall, it was a decent effort from the Indian unit in this ODI series resulting in a series whitewash! The next assignment for these two teams would be the 5-match T20I series that starts on Friday (July 29).
