Hosts Sri Lanka registered a come-from-behind victory in the second Test match to level the 2-match series 1-1. Paksitan chased down 342 runs on the last two days of the first Test match to win it by a thumping margin but their batters were clueless in this second Test match to only end up sharing the series!

Sri Lanka chose to bat first in this second Test match after being 1-0 down in the series. With the fifties each from Chandimal (80) and Oshada Fernando (50), they were able to post a competitive first innings score of 378 runs. Pakistan, in reply, were bowled out for 231 runs as Ramesh Mendis bagged a five-wicket haul.
Having already secured a 147-run lead in the first innings, Sri Lanka batted really well in their second innings to set a 500+ target for the visitors! Dananjaya de Silva scored his 9th century in this format of the game as the hosts declared their 2nd innings with 360/8 on the board, setting a target of 508 runs for Pakistan!
At Stumps on Day 4, Pakistan (89/1) were in a comfortable position of drawing this Test match if not a victory! However, they lost 9 wickets in the first two sessions on the final day to concede the victory to Sri Lanka and share the trophy! Sri Lanka's Prabath Jayasuriya and Ramesh Mendis accounted for 9 wickets between them in the fourth innings of this Test!
