After being sent into bat first, Zimbabwe posted 200 on the board losing 10 wickets in 47.3 overs. Cameron Green was the pick of Aussie bowlers with a five-wicket haul and was well aided by Azam Zampa who picked up 3 wickets. Mitchell Marsh and Mitchell Starc shared a wicket apiece.
It was a very poor show with the bat from the visitors Zimbabwe after being asked to bat first by the home team. Though they got through the powerplay unscathed, they couldn't get on to post at least a competitive total on the board. Wessly Madhevere scored 72 runs while Marumani (45) and Chakabva (31) made crucial contributions in setting this low target.
Australia, chasing 201 runs to win, chased down the target losing 5 wickets in 33.3 overs. They got to the target scoring exactly at 6 runs per over as David Warner (57) and Steve Smith (48*) scored half of the target! Glenn Maxwell unleashed himself as he remained unbeaten on 32* off just 9 deliveries including 3 fours and 3 sixes.
