Hong Kong defeat UAE to qualify for Asia Cup 2022

Yasim Murtaza's half-century and Ehsan Khan's 4-wicket haul helped Hong Kong comfortably defeat the United Arab Emirates in the 6th match of the Asia Cup Qualifiers 2022. With this victory, Hong Kong will meet India and Pakistan in Group A.

Toss Update: Hong Kong won the toss and opted to field first.

After being sent into bat first, United Arab Emirates scored 147 on the board before getting bowled out in 19.3 overs. Captain Rizwan (49) and Zawar Farid (41) scored in the 40s but there was little contribution from the other batters! Ehsan Khan once again starred with the ball for Hong Kong with a 4-wicket haul.

Hong Kong, chasing 148 runs to win, got over the line losing just 2 wickets in 19 overs. Yasim Murtaza scored a half-century while captain Nizakat Khan (39) and Babar Hayat (38*) contributed with scores in the 30s each!

Match result: Hong Kong defeated the United Arab Emirates by a margin of 8 wickets.

Ehsan Khan has been adjudged as the Player of the Match for his crucial contribution of 4-24 from his 4 overs. Hong Kong, with this victory, bagged 6 points with 3 wins from 3 games and is at the top of the table. They now got selected for the Group stage and is placed in Group A alongside India and Pakistan.
