Pakistan take unassailable lead in Netherlands ODI series

All-round Pakistan comfortably defeated the Netherlands in the 2nd ODI of the 3-match series to take an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the 3-match series. The home team got close to chasing down a 300+ target in the first ODI but were completely outplayed in this second ODI to lose the series!

Toss Update: the Netherlands won the toss and opted to bat first.

Having opted to bat first, the Netherlands scored just 186 runs on the board losing all 10 wickets in 44.1 overs. Mohammad Nawaz and Haris Rauf bagged 3 wickets each as only three of the home team batters got into double digits! Bas de Leede (89) and Tom Cooper (66) did all the scoring with contribution from others in the line-up next to almost nothing!

Pakistan, chasing 187 runs to win, chased down the target losing 3 wickets in 33.4 overs. Mohammad Nawaz (69*), Babar Azam (57), and Agha Salman (50*) all scored half-centuries in this easy run-chase!

Match result: Pakistan defeated the Netherlands by a margin of 7 wickets.

Mohammad Nawaz has been adjudged as the Player of the Match for his crucial contribution of 3-42 in 10 overs. The third and final ODI of this 3-match series will be played at the same venue (Rotterdam) on Sunday (Aug 21).
