Though Ireland showed a lot of nerve during this big run-chase chase, they fell short eventually in the end losing the match by just 21 runs.

Having opted to bat first, Courtesy of half-centuries each from opener Reeza Hendricks and middle-order batter Markram, South Africa posted a massive total of 211 on the board losing just 5 wickets in 20 overs. Tristan Stubbs (24 off 11) and Dwaine Pretorius (21* off 7) provided a late boost in the innings!
Irish wicket-keeper Lorcan Tucker induced inspiration into the chase with his brisk knock of 78 runs off just 38 deliveries (7 fours, 5 sixes). George Dockrell (43 off 28) too scored quickly during the death overs but their consolidated effort was not enough. Ireland, chasing 212 runs to win, lost the game eventually by 21 runs!
