After being sent into bat first, Pakistan scored 121 on the board losing 10 wickets in 19.1 overs. They were in a comfortable position scoring 63 runs from the first 9.1 overs losing just a wicket. But since then they lost the plot having bowled out for just 121 runs.
Hasaranga starred for Lankans with a 3-wicket haul in this match! For the record, Pakistan rested Naseem Shah and Shadab Khan and they struggled with the bat lower down the order in this match! But Pakistan's team will be strengthened with their return on Sunday!
Sri Lanka, chasing 122 runs to win, managed to score 124 losing 5 wickets in 17 overs. Opener Pathum Nissanka scored an unbeaten 55* runs in this low run-chase as they chased down the target with 18 balls to spare in their innings!
Match result: Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan by a margin of 5 wickets.
Wanindu Hasaranga has been adjudged as the Player of the Match for his crucial contribution of 3-21 from his 4 overs. Sri Lanka might have won this match but a victory in Sunday's match would matter the most!
