Toss Update: New Zealand won the toss and opted to field first.
After being sent into bat first, Bangladesh scored 137 on the board losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. Shakib al Hasan returned to the side as captain and batted at no. 7 to give their players ample time before the crucial T20 World Cup. Their batting looked weak in this innings and that cost them the match! They could only post a par total on the board with opener Shanto (33 runs) top-scoring.
It was, in fact, Michael Bracewell (2-14) and Trent Boult (2-25) who set the tone with the ball for the hosts. Tim Southee and Ish Sodhi also bagged 2 wickets each in this innings.
New Zealand, chasing 138 runs to win, managed to score 142 losing 2 wickets with 2.1 overs to spare in their innings. Devon Conway scored an unbeaten 70* with the bat as the home team registered a massive victory after losing to Pakistan at the same venue.
