After being sent into bat first, South Africa scored 99 on the board losing 10 wickets in 27.1 overs. Heinrich Klassen top-scored for them with 34 runs but as a team couldn't even cross the 100-run mark. Indian spinners accounted for 8 wickets among them and Siraj again contributed with two wickets.
India, chasing 100 runs to win, managed to score 105 losing 3 wickets in 19.2 overs. Shikhar Dhawan once again did not get a good score while Shubman Gill was the pick of Indian batters with his 49, unlucky to miss out on his personal milestone. Shreyas Iyer was in a good flow with the bat as he scored the winning runs with a Six over long-off.
Match result: India defeated South Africa by a margin of 7 wickets.
Kuldeep Yadav has been declared as the Player of the Match for his crucial contribution of 4-18 from 4.1 overs including a maiden over. With this 7-wicket victory, India have completed a series victory by 2-1. It was a brilliant comeback series victory for young and inexperienced India after losing the first match of the series in Lucknow.
