Miller's ton in vain as India seal T20I series victory in Guwahati

Suryakumar Yadav's blitzkrieg with the bat during the middle overs set the tone as India defeated South Africa in the 2nd T20I of the 3-match series in a high-scoring thriller! With this 16-run victory, India has taken an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the 3-match series.

Toss Update: South Africa won the toss and opted to field first.

After being sent into bat first, India scored 237 on the board losing 3 wickets in 20 overs. KL Rahul (57 off 28) started off India's innings with a superb half-century while Suryakuamar Yadav (61 off 22) and Virat Kohli (49* off 28) were superb during the second half of India's innings!

Rohit Sharma (43 off 37) and Dinesh Karthik (17* off 7) too made notable contributions with the bat! Keshav Maharaj was the only wicket-taker for Proteas in this innings as he registered figures of 2-23 in his 4 overs.

South Africa, chasing 238 runs to win, managed to score 221 losing 3 wickets in 20 overs. David Miller (106* off 47) and Quinton de Kock (69* off 48) made notable contributions in this 16-run defeat. This duo shared an unbeaten 174* run stand for the fourth wicket but couldn't take them to victory losing the game as well as the series in the end!

Match result: India defeated South Africa by a margin of 16 runs.

KL Rahul has been adjudged as the Player of the Match for his crucial contribution of 57 runs off 28 deliveries with 5 fours and 4 sixes. India currently lead the 3-match series by 2-0 with the third and final T20I of the series on Tuesday (Oct 04) in Indore.
