Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has provided an update on the availability of their premium pace bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi in the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia. The pacer is set to join the squad in Brisbane as per schedule on the 15th of October!

The left-arm pacer will participate in their two warm-up games ahead of the tournament. Based on his performance and fitness levels, his participation in the tournament will be decided by the Pakistan team management.
"Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi will join the national squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Australia 2022 in Brisbane as per schedule on Saturday, 15 October, after undergoing his rehabilitation programme under the supervision of the PCB Medical Advisory Committee at the Crystal Palace Football Club," stated a media release from PCB.
"Consequently, Shaheen is now available for selection for the 17 and 19 October warm-up matches against England and Afghanistan, respectively during which his match fitness will be assessed by the team management," added the media release.
Pakistan Cricket Board has also provided an update on the injured Fakhar Zaman who is one of the traveling reserves. He will also travel to Brisbane along with Shaheen to join the squad.
"Fakhar Zaman will also travel to Brisbane with Shaheen and National High-Performance Centre coach Umar Rashid. Fakhar will complete his rehabilitation under the supervision of PCB’s Chief Medical Officer and team doctor Dr. Najeebullah Soomro, following which a decision on his participation if required, will be made," added the PCB media release.
