India defeated South Africa in a high-scoring thriller in Guwahati on Sunday (Oct 02). Their victory in this second T20I of the 3-match series meant that India have taken an unassailable lead of 2-0 and won a T20I series against South Africa for the first time in India!

1 - India's first ever bilateral T20I series against South Africa at home. South Africa won the 2015 edition (2-0 in a 2-match series) while the T20I series in 2019 (1-1 in a 3-match series) and 2022 (2-2 in a 5-match series) ended up as a Draw.
237/3 - India's team total in this match against South Africa. This is the highest ever team total scored against South Africa in this format of the game. The previous best was 236/6 by the West Indies team in Johannesburg back in 2015!
18 - Number of deliveries taken by Suryakumar Yadav to reach his half-century in this match. This is the joint second-fastest half-century for an Indian player in this format of the game. KL Rahul in 2021 also scored an 18-ball fifty against Scotland while Yuvraj Singh's 12-ball feat against England in the 2007 T20 World Cup is still the best for any Indian player!
573 - Number of deliveries taken by Suryakumar Yadav to complete the first 1000 runs in T20I cricket. This is the best for any player in this format of the game. Previously, this record was held by Australia's Glenn Maxwell who got to the milestone in 604 deliveries!
106* not out - David Miller scored his second century in T20Is and he has taken just 47 deliveries to make this score but he ended up on the losing side as South Africa's asking rate was too high! This is Miller's 2nd century in this format while the first century was against Bangladesh in 2017.
50 - Number of sixes hit by Suryakumar Yadav so far in T20Is in 2022. He is the first player ever to hit 50 sixes in the T20I format in a single calendar year. The previous best was 42 by Mohammad Rizwan in 2021.
