Sikandar Raza starred with the ball as Zimbabwe comfortably defeated Pakistan in the Super 12 match of the T20 World Cup 2022 tournament. Defending just 130 runs against the mighty Pakistan line-up, Zimbabwe won the match by 1 run in the end!

Toss Update: Zimbabwe won the toss and opted to bat first.
Having opted to bat first, Zimbabwe scored 130 on the board losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. Craig Ervine (19 off 19) and Wessly Madhevere (17 off 13) added 42 runs for the first wicket while Sean Williams (31 off 28) contributed with the bat during the middle overs. However, they only got to a par score on the board. That was the talk at least at the halfway stage!
Mohammad Wasim starred with the ball for Pakistan with figures of 4-24 from his 4 overs. Shadab Khan (3-23) and Haris Rauf (1-12) also supported him well with the ball at the other end!
Pakistan, chasing 131 runs to win, managed to score 129 losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. Both openers departed cheaply and Shan Masood top-scored for them with 44 runs. There were moments when Pakistan had their chances of victory but Zimbabwe held their nerve on their way to a 1-run victory!
Mohammad Nawaz (22 off 18) and Mohammad Wasim (12* off 13) added 34 runs for the 7th wicket, taking them almost over the line but the partnership was broken in the final over which turned the game one final time towards Zimbabwe! Sikandar Raza (3-25) and Brad Evans (2-25) starred with the ball for Zimbabwe in this crucial victory.
Match result: Zimbabwe defeated Pakistan by a margin of 1 run.
