England beat Pakistan to win T20 World Cup 2022 edition

Ben Stokes with an unbeaten half-century and Sam Curran with bowling figures of 3-12 from his 4 overs starred for England as they comfortably defeated Pakistan in the Final of the T20 World Cup 2022 edition! This is England's second T20 World Cup title as they join West Indies as only the second team to win two T20 World Cup titles thus far!

Toss Update: England won the toss and opted to field first.

After being sent into bat first, Pakistan scored 137 on the board losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. MCG proved too big for Pakistan batters who scored only two sixes in their 20 overs! Shan Masood top-socred for them with 38 runs while Babar Azam scored 32 runs. Their batting strike rate was so poor as they put up only a par total on the board.

Sam Curran bowled brilliantly for England with figures of 3-12 from his 4 overs. And Adil Rashid supported his very well with figures of 2-22 from his 4 overs. Probably the catch Adil Rashid took to dismiss Babar Azam off his own bowling was the turning point in Pakistan's innings! Chris Jordan (2-27) and Ben Stokes (1-32) bagged the remaining wickets to fall in this innings.

England, chasing 138 runs to win, managed to score 138 losing 5 wickets in 19 overs. Ben Stokes once again proved that he was made for big moments with his unbeaten half-century in this successful run-chase. Deservingly, Stokes also got to hit the winning runs in this second T20 World Cup title for England.
