The Australia Cricket Board has scheduled a 2-match Test series against the West Indies at home during November and December of 2022. Both the games in this series will be played as part of the ICC World Test Championship 2021–2023 cycle, taking place in Perth and Adelaide.

The first test will be contested at Perth Stadium in Perth, Australia, from November 30th to December 4th, 2022. The second and third tests will be played at Adelaide Oval in Adelaide, Australia, from December 8th to December 12th, 2022.
Pat Cummins will captain the Australian test squad as they begin the series against Kraigg Brathwaite and the West Indies. This will be the last international assignment of head coach Phil Simmons for West Indies. He announced his decision to step down from the role after they failed to make it to the Super 12 round of the recently concluded T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.
As far as the milestones for captains are concerned, Pat Cummins is nearing his 200-wicket milestone in this format, while Brathwaite has the chance to cross the 5000-run mark in Tests. Australia are currently at the top of the ICC World Test Championship table for this cycle and would fancy a clean sweep to solidify their chances for the WTC Final.
Head-to-Head record:
As far as bilateral cricket in the Test format is considered, Australia holds a clear edge over the West Indies side. Out of the 116 Tests against each other, Australia won 58 of those matches, and the West Indies won 32. There was a tied game in Brisbane in 1960 while the remaining 25 Tests were drawn.
West Indies last visited Australia in the year 2015 for a 3-match Test series in which the home team had won 2-0. The upcoming 2-match Test series would be an interesting one considering the inexperience of West Indies players in the Australian conditions.
