Team England led by Jos Buttler was among the favorites to win the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia and even they justified the hype by beating Pakistan in the all-important finals to lift the trophy. Even with a few great T20 Players not playing in the tournament due to injuries, they didn't make any mistakes. Almost every player on the team played their role to perfection.

Everything starts with a plan, a good plan with a better execution makes a good team and that's what England proved.
There were a few hurdles initially, as they edged past Afghanistan in the tournament opener. England was a little slow to start off in that match, and even with a low chasing score, they didn't win the match easily. The Afghans tried every possible way to retard the run rate of England till the 18th over, which itself is a great try but England achieved the victory in the end.
In the Match against Ireland, the luck wasn't on their side as the rain spoiled their batting era. England was also behind the run rate and even they allowed Ireland to post a big total. Courtesy of the DLS method, they lost it to Ireland.
In the Super 12 match against New Zealand, England posted 179 runs to the board with outstanding batting by Jos Buttler. England was very strict in their fielding and tried all the way to make the opposites consume the balls. And as a result, they were successful at it and made New Zealand make only 159 in 20 overs. In their last Super 12 match, they defeated Sri Lanka to make it to the Semifinals.
Semifinal vs India at Adelaide Oval:
In the Semifinals, against India, they completely mauled India. They protected the short square boundary of the stadium and allowed only 2 sixes until the death overs. Chasing a score of 169 was not something hard for England as it took only their openers Alex Hales and Jos Buttler to bring the score to 170 and achieve a crucial victory.
Final vs Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground:
After crossing all the hurdles, England finally made it to the finals against Pakistan. England won the toss and chose to bowl first. Their strict fielding allowed Pakistan to achieve only 137 in their quota of 20 overs. With great players like Ben stokes finishing on 52 unbeaten, England lifted the trophy of the T20 World Cup 2022.
Having already won the T20 World Cup in 2010 under the leadership of Paul Collingwood, they now become only the second team to win the coveted trophy for the second time so far in the history of the tournament. And as Ben Stokes rightly pointed after the win, Jos Buttler has now become a 'T20 World Cup winning captain'.
