India scored 72 runs from the last 5 overs as they posted a massive total on the board from a total of just 119-3 in 15 overs. Incidentally, Suryakumar scored 61 runs out of those 72 runs at the death! That was some special knock played by this new 360-degree player!

Tim Southee claimed 3 wickets while conceding 34 runs from his 4 overs and incidentally, it was a hat-trick in the final over of India's innings comprising the wickets of Hardik Pandya (19.3), Deepak Hooda (19.4), and Washington Sundar (19.5). Lockie Ferguson bagged 2 wickets but conceded 49 from his 4 overs as SKY alone scored 22 runs from the 19th over bowled by him!

During the run-chase, New Zealand lost their opener, Finn Allen, for a 2-ball Duck. However, a 56-run stand for the 2nd wicket between Devon Conway and Kane Williamson provided them a good start. But NZ soon lost their ground losing wickets at regular intervals.

Eventually, New Zealand, chasing 192 runs to win, managed to score just 126 runs losing all their 10 wickets in 18.5 overs. Deepak Hooda was surprisingly India's pick of the bowlers with figures of 4-10 from his 2.5 overs. Yuzvendra Chahal was India's most prized bowled in this innings with the wickets of star batters Glenn Phillips and James Neesham!
