Pakistan announced their squad for the upcoming home Test series against England that kick starts from the 01st of December at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi. In what was a surprising move to many fans, they have dropped big names like Fawad Alam, Hasan Ali, and Yasir Shah.

Meanwhile, uncapped players Abrar Ahmed (spinner) and Mohammad Ali (pacer) have been added to the squad on the back of their brilliant performances in the ongoing Quaid-e-Azam trophy. Abrar so far picked up 43 wickets in the ongoing season and had picked up five 5-wicket hauls in his last 6 FC games. On the other hand, Ali has been the leading wicket-taker in the last season of the Quaid-e-Azam trophy and also the leading wicket-taker in the current season!
Both uncapped bowlers Mohammad Wasin jr. and Zahid Mehmood who were part of Pakistan's squad for the home Tests against Australia have returned to the Test squad for this upcoming home series against England.
Injured Shaheen Shah Afridi is not available for this selection as he is currently under a three to four weeks rest after undergoing appendicitis surgery over the weekend! He is expected to resume his rehabilitation work on his right knee following the rest.
Fawad Alam was in terrible form in the home Tests against Australia and also scored just 25 runs in the only Test he played in the 2-match series in Sri Lanka. On the other hand, Hasan Ali bagged just five wickets from his last four Test matches played against Australia and Sri Lanka.
In their last two Test series, Pakistan lost their 3-match Test series to Australia by 1-0 at home and had drawn the 2-match Test series in Sri Lanka by 1-1. The 3-match Test series between Pakistan and England starts on Dec 01 and will be played in Rawalpindi (Dec 01-05), Multan (Dec 09-13), and Karachi (Dec 17-21).
