Bravo was with Mumbai Indians for the first two seasons of IPL before moving to CSK in 2011. The all-rounder played crucial roles in CSK's IPL victories in 2011, 2018, and 2021. Whilst the CSK was banned for the IPL 2016 & 2017 seasons, Bravo played for Gujarat Lions under the captaincy of Suresh Raina.
"I’m looking forward to this new journey because it’s something I see myself doing after my playing days are fully over. I enjoy working with bowlers and it’s a role I’m excited about. From player to coach, I don’t think I have to adjust much because while I’m playing, I always work with bowlers and try to come up with plans and ideas on how to have that one step ahead of the batsmen. The only difference is I will no longer be standing at mid-on or mid-off," said Bravo announcing his retirement.
In the 144 matches Bravo played for CSK in the IPL tournament, he claimed 168 wickets besides scoring over 1500 runs with the bat. Overall, Bravo has bagged 183 wickets in the history of the IPL which is the highest thus far for any bowler.
"I never thought I would be the leading wicket-taker in the history of IPL. But I’m just happy to be a part of IPL history!" said Bravo.
