CSK defeat RCB in Bengaluru run-fest

Chennai Super Kings emerged victorious at Chinnaswamy where both teams scores boundaries at ease in what was a ground with shorter boundary lengths. CSK post 226/6 in their 20 overs after being sent into bat first by the home team RCB. Devon Conway was their top scorer with 83 runs off just 45 balls.

During the middle overs, Shivam Dube came out as a surprise package with his whirlwind knock of 52 off just 27 deliveries which included 2 fours and 5 sixes. The 80-run stand the 3rd wicket between Conway and Dube had put CSK slightly ahead in this game. Rahane, continuing his IPL form, made 37 runs in the 20 balls he faced stitching a 74-run stand for the 2nd wicket.

RCB pacer Vijaykumar Vyshak who had a dream debut in his last game conceded 62 runs from his quota of 4 overs. Another noticeable incident from RCB's bowling was that Harshal Patel was taken off from bowling in the 20th over as he bowled two waist-high full tosses in the same over. The stand-in captain Glenn Maxwell had to pitch in to complete that over!

During the run-chase, Virat Kohli (6 off 4) and Mahipal Lomror (0 off 5) departed early inside the first 2 overs. However, Faf du Plessis (62 off 33) and Glenn Maxwell (76 off 36) kept the chase alive with their 126-run stand for the 3rd wicket. During the stand, both the players' got multiple reprieves as CSK fielders dropped many opportunities!

Once Maxwell departed in the 13th over, CSK made a strong comeback to restrict the hosts to just 218/8 in 20 overs and thereby winning the match by 8 runs! Devon Conway has been adjudged as the Player of the Match for his 83 runs in the first half that set up the match beautifully!

With this victory, CSK moved up to the 3rd position with 6 points while RCB are at the 7th points with 4 points.
