What was yet another disastrous performance by an IPL team involving KL Rahul has come to light in the first match of the doubleheader on Saturday (Apr 23). Lucknow Super Giants needed 56 runs from the last 10 overs with 9 wickets in hand.

And the equation was down to 12 off the final over with captain and opener KL Rahul still at the crease! However, Gujarat Titans bowler Mohit Sharma pulled an unthinkable comeback taking them over the line with 7 runs! Here is how one of the biggest setbacks has happened.
Final Over Equation: LSG need 12 runs from 6 balls to beat GT in Lucknow. Mohit Sharma bowled the final over with KL Rahul on strike and Ayush Badoni at the other end.
19.1: Mohit Sharma to KL Rahul, 2 runs.
Rahul digs out an yorker which goes the bowler's head towards long-off. Badoni dives at the non-striker's end which made the second run possible. LSG need 10 runs from 5 balls.
19.2 Mohit Sharma to KL Rahul, OUT.
Mohit strikes with a slower short delivery as Rahul only managed to get a top edge on that. Jayant Yadav takes an easy catch at deep square leg to help GT see the back of Rahul! LSG need 10 runs from 4 balls.
19.3 Mohit Sharma to Marcus Stoinis, OUT.
Stoinis comes and Stoinis goes without troubling the scorers! Another slower delivery from Mohit when LSG were desperately looking for boundaries! And Stoinis was caught at long-on by David Miller. LSG need 10 runs from 3 balls.
19.4 Mohit Sharma to Deepak Hooda, 1 run + run-out.
Mohit was on a hat-trick for this delivery but did not go for a wicket-taking delivery as the same might concede runs. Hooda digs out an yorker and goes for a non-existent second run. The throw was good at the non-striker end and Badoni was caught short of the crease. LSG need 9 runs from 2 balls.
19.5 Mohit Sharma to Deepak Hooda, 1 run + run-out.
Another attempt for a double and another run-out but this time at the striker's end with Hooda gone. Hooda was attempting another double to at least take this game to a Super Over but was found short and had to walk back. LSG need 8 runs from the final delivery to win.
19.6 Mohit Sharma to Ravi Bishnoi, no run.
Bishnoi failed to put bat on to the ball as Mohit Sharma bowls yet another slower delivery. The experienced campainger Mohit Sharma takes GT over the line with a 7-run margin.
In what was a winning position at the halfway position, KL Rahul and his team jinxed their chances to show how to lose even from a strong position. The last boundary was scored in the 13th over and that did all the damage for the Lucknow group in this match. Overall, it was great bowling from the GT line-up, and especially Mohit Sharma in the final over defending such a small target against the likes of Rahul, Stoinis, and Hooda.
