Lucknow Super Giants registered the second-highest score ever in the history of the IPL tournament in the Mohali game against hosts Punjab Kings. Their team score of 257/5 in 20 overs in this match was only 6 runs short of the top score in this tournament - 263/5 against Pune Warriors in the 2013 edition.

It was a great performance from the LSG team after Punjab Kings chose to bowl first. The early departure of KL Rahul (12 off 9) worked wonders for the team as all their remaining batting top-order clicked with the bat.
A 24-ball 54 for the opener Kyle Mayers, a 24-ball 43 for young Ayush Badoni who was promoted up the order to no. 3, a 40-ball 72 for Marcus Stoinis at no. 4, and an icing on the cake performance, the 19-ball 45 from Nicholas Pooran at no. 5 propelled LSG to this mammoth total on the board!
Lucknow had hit 27 fours and 14 sixes, the second-highest number of boundaries scored by a team in a single innings! This is only one short of RCB's 42 boundaries against Pune Warriors in 2013.
During the run-chase in this match, Punjab Kings scored 201 runs before getting bowled out in 19.5 overs. It was a great effort with the bat from Punjab, but not good enough in this high-scoring run-fest match!
