India has made it to the WTC Finals in both cycles so far but they lost it on both occasions - lost to New Zealand in 2021 and to Australia in 2023. Both the first two WTC Finals were played in England, favoring the pace bowlers.

A win in the 2-match Test series would do a world of good for India as they strengthen their position and will be favorites to make it to the WTC Final for the third time in a row.
