England are dealt with a big blow as their top order better Ollie Pope has been ruled out of the remainder of the Ashes series owing to a shoulder injury sustained during the second Test match at Lord's.

"It's a pretty tough situation when you nearly bust your shoulder and you're told it was an external injury. It was always going to happen. He's so committed to this team. He was always going to fall on something. And now he's back off," said Jeetan Patel, England's spin coach.
Australian spinner Nathan Lyon has also been ruled out of the remainder of the Ashes series in England. He sustained a tear in his calf while fielding in England's first innings of the 2nd Test match.

In the absence of Lyon, Australia might recall Todd Murphy into the playing XI for the third Test match. Australia are currently enjoying a lead of 2-0 in the 5-match Ashes series in England. The third Test match of this series would be played in Headingly beginning from 06th July.
