The Sri Lankan women's team led by Chamari Athapaththu created history in England as they defeated the hosts to record their first-ever series victory in any format of the game! Courtesy of a thumping 7-wicket victory, Sri Lanka won the series 2-1 to keep their head high!

Their captain Athapaththu contributed both with the bat and ball - bagged three wickets upfront to bowl out England for 116 runs and scored 44 runs off just 28 deliveries which helped Sri Lanka get over the line with 3 overs to spare.

T20I #2: Sri Lanka won by 8 wickets
T20I #3: Sri Lanka won by 7 wickets
This is Sri Lanka's third T20I series against England with the first one dated back in 2010. Overall this was Sri Lanka's 7th bilateral series against England with all the other 4 series being played in ODI format.
With the T20I series now done and dusted, these two teams will now meet in a 3-match bilateral ODI series starting from Saturday (Sep 09). The remaining two ODIs will be played on Tuesday (Sep 12) and Thursday (Sep 14).
