Due to only 24.1 overs being bowled in the Super 4 cricket match between Pakistan and India, the officials had to call off play for the day on Sunday (Sep 10) in Colombo and had to push the game into reserve day! The game will continue today (Sep 11), with Virat Kohli (8 not out), and KL Rahul (17* not out) from India currently at the crease and Shadab Khan from Pakistan set to bowl.

Rohit Sharma-led India was invited to bat first after Pakistan captain Babar Azam won the toss. The Indian openers, Rohit and Shubman Gill displayed an attacking display right from the start. They took on the Pakistani pace attack, hitting Shaheen Shah Afridi for 31 overs in his first 3 overs.
During the match, in the first 2 overs, Shadab Khan conceded 31 runs while Rohit scored boundaries with ease. However, Shubman, who had shown hesitancy in the previous game against the same opponents in the group stage, played more confidently this time and delivered a better performance.
The two Indian openers displayed remarkable performance and quickly scored half-centuries. They formed a partnership of 121 runs in just 100 balls, putting Pakistan in a difficult position. Nonetheless, the Indian captain was dismissed by Shadab Khan, providing the necessary breakthrough. In the following over, Shaheen also got Shubman out putting breaks on India's scoring rate.
Rain interrupted and forced players off the field just when Virat and Rahul were building a nice little partnership after the departure of Indian openers. The duo added 24 runs so far for the 3rd wicket in 38 deliveries before rain made an uninvited appearance.
After regular inspections, the match officials were still dissatisfied with the playing conditions at the RPS Stadium in Colombo. As a result, play was suspended for the day, with the decision to resume on the reserve day on Monday (Sep 11). The game will still be a 50-over game unless we lose due to the weather on Monday!
Brief Scores: India: 147-2 in 24.1 overs (Shubman Gill 58, Rohit Sharma 56, Shaheen Shah Afridi 1-37, Shadab Khan 1-45).
