In the Asia Cup Super Four fixture against Pakistan, Shubman Gill scored 58 runs and formed a 121-run opening partnership with captain Rohit Sharma. Despite only scoring 19 runs in the subsequent game against Sri Lanka, Gill's outstanding performance in the previous match resulted in him moving up one rank in the rankings.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Gill have moved up two positions each in the rankings due to their impressive performances over the past week.
During a recent match against Pakistan, Kohli scored a magnificent unbeaten century. In his last two matches of the same series, Rohit Sharma scored 53 and 56 runs. This achievement has made history, as it marks the first time since September 2018 that three Indian batters have made it to the top ten of the ODI rankings. Four years ago, Rohit Sharma, Kohli, and Shikhar Dhawan accomplished this feat.
In recent Asia Cup matches, Kuldeep Yadav, the Indian wrist-spinner, showcased a superb performance that has earned him a spot in the seventh position in the ICC Men's Bowler Rankings for ODIs. Yadav picked up a five-wicket haul against Pakistan and a four-wicket haul against Sri Lanka in successive games, which helped him climb up to the top 10.
