Kane Williamson and Tim Southee joined the experienced squad for the ODI World Cup tournament which starts in India on October 5. Both of these veterans featured for the NZ last time the tournament was held in India in 2011 and would be a great positive to the side.

Mark Chapman, Devon Conway, Daryl Mitchell, and Glenn Phillips feature in a One Day World Cup squad for the first time having featured in T20 World Cup squads before. On the other hand, all-rounder Rachin Ravindra and batsman Will Young are selected in their first senior white-ball World Cup squads.
The return of Trent Boult to the side for the ODI World Cup will boost the side's confidence ahead of the tournament. On the other hand, Tom Latham has been named vice-captain for the side. He is currently leading New Zealand's limited-overs squad in the tour of England as Williamson was rested to recover from a knee injury that he sustained in IPL earlier in April this year!
New Zealand were one of the most consistent sides as far as the last three World Cup editions are considered. They made it to the semi-final in the 2011 World Cup while playing in the Final match of the 2015 and 2019 World Cup editions - Lost to Australia at MCG in 2015, and lost to England in the 2019 Final.
