New Zealand add Jacob Duffy as Ferguson's cover for Pakistan tri-series

Jacob Duffy, the Otago Volts pace bowler, has earned a spot in the BLACKCAPS ODI squad for the upcoming Tri Series in Pakistan, which kicks off in Lahore on February 8. Duffy, who shone during the recent Sri Lanka tour by taking 12 wickets in five white-ball games, was also named Player of the KFC T20I series.

Coach Gary Stead highlighted Duffy's inclusion as a move to bolster the pace-bowling ranks, particularly providing cover for Lockie Ferguson, who is currently engaged in the ILT20. Duffy is set to join the BLACKCAPS ODI team as they depart for Pakistan on Monday evening.

The Tri Series schedule sees the BLACKCAPS first taking on Pakistan at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on February 8, followed by a match against South Africa at the same venue on February 10. A potential final could be played in Karachi on February 14.

Following the Tri Series, the BLACKCAPS will begin their ICC Champions Trophy campaign against the host nation, Pakistan, in Karachi on February 19. Duffy's recent performances make him a valuable addition to the squad as they prepare for these crucial matches.
