Pakistan has been penalized five World Test Championship Points for their offense of slow over-rate in the recently concluded 2nd Test match against South Africa in Cape Town. In addition, Pakistani players were also fined 25 percent of their match fees.

Pakistan was found to be 5 overs short after considering all the factors in the Test match. South Africa defeated Pakistan in this Test match by 10 wickets, and this points deduction is like applying salt to their wounds!
Pakistan is already in second place from the bottom and has no chance of making it to the Final anyway! The WTC point deduction at this stage is of no use!
