IPL 2020: Buttler to miss tournament opener for Rajasthan Royals

England’s in-form wicket-keeper Jos Buttler is set to miss the tournament opener for Rajasthan Royals which is scheduled to be played on Tuesday (Sep 22). Jos is currently under mandatory 6-day quarantine who arrived in Dubai with his family.

Other players from England and Australia who featured in the recently concluded limited-overs series in England have travelled directly to UAE – travelled from one bio-bubble to other bio-bubble directly. With BCCI easing restrictions on such players to be in isolation for just 36 hours, the others were able to feature in their respective IPL games for their franchise starting from first game.

On the other hand, Buttler missed the limited-overs series against Australia due to personal reasons and is now subject to mandatory 6-day quarantine. His family too who travelled with him is following the mandatory quarantine rules along with Buttler!

"I'm unfortunately going to miss the first match for Rajasthan because I'm going to be doing my quarantine period because I'm here with my family - which is great that the Royals have allowed me to have my family out here. It'll be a huge help in lockdown having my family here with me," confirmed Jos Buttler via Instagram Live on Rajasthan Royals official account!

Rajasthan Royals are scheduled to play their tournament opener against Chennai Super Kings on Tuesday (Sep 22). If Buttler passes the quarantine period without any positive test results, he is likely to play the Royals’ second game against Kings XI Punjab on Sep 27.
