Yadav's record as T20I captain is impressive. He has captained India in 17 matches, securing 13 victories, which translates to a win percentage of approximately 76.47%. Under his leadership, India achieved a remarkable 4-1 series win against Australia in November 2023, showcasing his ability to lead from the front with both bat and strategic field placements.

The series against South Africa in December 2023 ended in a 1-1 draw, but Yadav's century in the second match of the series in Jo'burg highlighted his capability to perform under pressure. Further successes came against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, where he led India to clean sweeps in July and October 2024, respectively.

These series wins not only demonstrated his leadership but also his knack for fostering a team environment conducive to high performance. His captaincy also saw India dominate South Africa with a 3-1 series victory in November 2024, adding to his growing list of achievements.

Suryakumar's approach as captain has been about maintaining an aggressive game plan, utilizing his and his team's strengths to the fullest. His ability to adapt strategies according to match situations has been a key factor in India's recent T20I successes.

With every series, Yadav's stature as a leader has grown, positioning him as a pivotal figure for India's future in T20I cricket, especially with an eye on the 2026 T20 World Cup. His record not only reflects his personal brilliance but also the potential of the team under his guidance.

The upcoming 5-match T20I series at home against England poses another challenge for SKY, the leader. But playing against top teams will help him improve his tactical knowledge which comes in handy in the ICC tournaments. The 5-match T20I series starts from 22nd January at Eden Gardens.
